I am sure this has been covered before however, I couldn't find anything in this forum or by searching the site. However,...

I am trying to test an app on RHEL 3.0 update 4. When I run the app I get the following error:

error while loading shared libraries: libstcd++.so.6: cannon open shared object file: No such file or directory

Now, I have the libstdc++.so.6 file but I do not know where to put it or what to do with it after I put it there.

I am guessing that it should be placed in /usr/lib/gcc-lib. In my installation there are two directories under gcc-lib. One named i386-redhat-linux and the other named i386-redhat-linux7. Should I copy the file into one or both of the directories. Should libstdc++.so.6 it go to another location?

Once I know where to put the file...What do I do with it? How do I tell RHEL 3 that it's there and to use it why I test my app?
