    Installation problem with new Kernel

Im currently running the 64 bit version of Fedora Core 3 Kernel 2.6.9. I used the auto update feature to update to Kernel 2.6.11. It completed and i rebooted. However, when i get to the hardware check it locks up? Any suggestions? Could it be that the autoupdate downloaded the non 64 bit Kernel? I can select the older kernel and get back in just fine, some im not in a panic. Just would like to fix the updated Kernel.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... OH, and im fairly new to Linux, so go easy on this poor newbie.
