    gedit crash

    I can run gedit as root, but when I try to run it as a non-root user, it crashes with this message:

    (gedit:5395): GLib-CRITICAL **: file gutf8.c: line 1537 (g_utf8_validate): assertion `str != NULL' failed

    Has anyone had a similar problem?

    I'm running RHEL4/WS, btw, and gedit 2.8.1-3.

    Thanks,
    R.Grove

    From what I've gathered from google, this is a known bug in certain versions of GLib, so I'd suggest you upgrade to the newest glib.
