Connecting Linux to Windows by using Telnet

    Dear Friends:

I have a Red Hat Linux AS 4 on My Computer(Server). I made two users in Linux. One is root(The Administrator) and the other is Ordinary
User(faisal). I want to connect the Ordinary User(faisal) from Windows
XP/2000/2003 clinet by using the Telnet Program to the root(Linux server). I want to know what changes did I make in the Telnet Program to connect to Linux Server.

Would you please tell me in the detailed Steps.

I will be very thankful to you.

    Faisal

You should consider using SSH instead of Telnet, because it's encrypted. It is likely that the SSH server is already running on your Linux machine; if it is not you need to have it running. Then you use some SSH client like Putty on Windows to connect to it.

I agree, Telnet is not the defacto standard that it once was. Putty is the definite way to go in a Windows/Linux environment.
