session manager authentication problems
Hi,
I've recently installed FC5 on my AMD x86_64.
I am working iwith VMD witch is a molecular visualization program that uses openGL (it use to work just fine on my FC4). Whenever I try to run it on the FC5 it seems to open for less than a second and then it quits. When I tried to run it as root I got this warning:
Warning: Tried to connect to session manager, Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
Does anyone know how to fix this? I am assuming that it is a problem with the session manager rather than the program I am runnig but I am not sure.
Thank you for you're help.
Jonathan.

Are you trying to run this program as root, or as a user?
Anyway that only means that the program you are trying to launch doesn't have the autorization to connect to your current X session.
Verify a few things:
1) Are you able to login to a X session?
2) Do you have this line in your /etc/network/interfaces:
3) Check the log of your login manager. If GDM, thenCode:127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
Code:cat /var/log/gdm/\:0.log

I do have the local host lione in my config file.
