    Restore / file system

    Hi All,
I have a Redhat EL 3 Servers running as an application Server, I have a second server with same Hardware configuration and i need to setup this server as a standby server for my application Server. I have contacted the application vendor and he suggested me to copy entire / file system from production server to standby server. So I installed OS on the stand by Server and using my Veritas Netbackup Server I restored entire / file system from production server to standby with out checking option OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES, then my stand by server worked very well but I need to restore the / file system every week to sync with production server in that case I need to overwrite the existing files every week, but this case when I do that my stand by OS is crashing. My application Server running Cpanel, mysql, PHP and apache. I tried to restore only selecting the applications files and data but applications are failed run on the standby server. Is there any way to sync / file system of the production server to my standby server ?
