Just guessing here, but try them with /sbin in front of them, like this:

    /sbin/modprobe

Is there away I could create an alias for "chkconfig" and "service" so I can run them from anywhere I like without having to include "/sbin/"???

Like the old "PATH=" in autoexec.bat, I know this comparison is a bit far fetched but...

Anyway, where do I have to create the alias? Or what's the best way?
