    Tar Uninstall Help!

    Gurus Help!

I used a tar install and made the utility successfully installed using ./configure, make, and make install. now my problem is how to uninstall this service or remove all the files created using this type of install. I have read that before and during install you need to have a list of files then issue the "diff" command.

Please help/show me solutions for this.

    Thanks!

Try seeing if it was added to the rpm repository:

    Code:
    rpm -qa | grep programname
then if it shows up, you should just be able to use the erase command, e.g:

    Code:
    rpm -e programname
    goodluck!

    Keith,

I am not using RPM Install, im using tar install..

    I solved the problem!

    Code:
    # find /* > beforeinstall
              # find /* > afterinstall
              # diff beforeinstall afterinstall > result
from the result file, you can manipulate it to remove all the files created during installation.
