    How can I make a shadow under the window?


    Hi all

    I am using gnome and I want to make a shadow under the windows,but Gnome does not have options for that.

    I tryed to do it in KDE but I always get an error massage.

    does that mean that my computer does not supprt that?


    please help...

    There are two ways to do it. The old one was (in KDE) using kwin/kcomp. this was very slow and at the time very unstable. You need a decent video card. Even my 64MB nVidia card had trouble with it. The new way to do it is to use XGL and Compiz. I believe fedora actually uses AIGLX rather than XGL, but both are very impressive and offer more than just drop shadows. It usually is a bit of work to get this going as it is quite new still, but if you like eye candy it is very worth while.
