    Thanks casper.
    By asking me to edit
    dries.repos.d
, did you mean the file located at /etc/yum.repos.d folder? There is no file named
    dries.repos.d
, but there is a file named dries.repo- I edited this file, rebooted and then ran yumex again, but unfortunately the result still remains the same. The masege is as follows:
    Mirrordetection : default
    Yum Version : 2.6.0 (/usr/share/yum-cli)
    Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: freshrpms
and the progress bar is showing 10% with a massege "initialising repositories" and its still trying even after nearly 10 mins I started this program.

    Please guide me in this.

Thanks to you I installed thunderbird, but I still having no idea how to get a list of program included in my PC!

    hi src2206 !!

you can find all the installed packages in /usr/bin folder.....
for yumex... again... CDs are not working and you have to use internet.... change the baseurl line to original one...
    baseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/$releasever/$basearch/freshrpms/

    Hi Casper,
Of which files should I change the base URL? The fedora-core.repo etc[those 3 files]?
    And what about the dries.repo.d?

    thanks for replying.

    Dear friend casper,
Should not we be informing tis situation to the FEDORA people so that they can take care of this bug?
This is rather silly that ADD/REMOVE won't work unless the user is connected to net !They must include something equivalent to windows ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS feature. That is not only neccessary, but in my opinion essential too.

according to this error, baseurl of freshrpms is misconfigured..... change baseurl of freshrpms.repo file..... for time being leave dries.repo file disabled.....

    that's great buddy,
I sincerely hope that they will pay attention to this bug and take care of it (once and for all) in the upcoming ver 6. Do you think that I should report it too? Just to increase the weight of the bug . I beleive the Bug reporting link is at the FC official website.

One more interesting point to note casper - remember you told me that after changing my core.repo files of yum.repos.d folder, I won't be able to update from net unless I replace them with the original core.repo files. Surprisingly, I did not have to replaced the edited files to get my updates from the net. :O

I beleive the reason is the mirror line which still contained the update site's URL. But why did you have to replace the files? Did you deleted the mirror lines?

I have seen in some of the Linux users showing a number like "Linux user no xxxxxxx" in their signatures? Can we register our copy of Linux?

    Thank you my dear friend.

i have BlueTooth GPRS connection and its very very slow... whenever yum try to use mirror list, it just stucks.... so, i keep default baseurl line and change it for DVD....

    Hi casper,
    Got myself registered.

In the repo files you have added a line file:\\\media\disk - here is DISK denoting a folder? I found out that disks are getting mounted automatically, but not in a folder named disk.

Regarding the line you advised me to change - The line is already the same as you suggested. So whats next ?

Could you find any solution regardind AD/REMOVE?

    Thank you.
