Hi casper.
Did you mean freshrpms.net at http://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&ct=...aBsIhTvrREW6-Q? I could not find any specific site named freshrpms.org. Typing www.freshrpms.org is giving me a search result with a pop up advertising window.
Thank you

I tried to install a package named wx-python but received the following error massege:
I tried to google to find out these dependencies but unfortunately did not get any result. Hi devils,
As the thread title really does not match with the problem that you are constantly helping me with, I made a new thread summing up the basic problem related to installation from CDs here : http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/red...tml#post364696
I would be grateful to you if you could kindly visit this thread.
Thank you

Hi !!
this is a MAIN problem of rpms.... Dependency ERRORS.....Regarding the fresh RPM package I received the following result:
" package freshrpms-release-1.1-1.fc is already installed" -So what to do next?
use yum or yumex........
yeah ! you can install Ubuntu too... right now i have 6 distros in my machine... using ubuntu these days....Lastly, today I received a CD from Ubuntoo with their latest release. Can I install it with existing FC? I fyes then how should I proceed?
create a space for Ubuntu.... start installation... let it write its boot loader...
you will get boot screen with Ubuntu and XP only...
now you can add FC5 in UBuntu's GRUB or Ubuntu's entry in FC5's GRUB...
you are right... this thread is far off topic from its title...
for Ubuntu, if you have any problem, post a new thread in Ubuntu Forum.

- 08-31-2006 #68- I think you mean that I should update that package using yumex- right?this is a MAIN problem of rpms.... Dependency ERRORS.....
use yum or yumex........
I connect to net using the command 'ifup ppp0' and dissconnect using 'ifdown'. I tried to create launchers on the desktop but I could not do it successfully. Is it possible to create launchers for these commands so that I do not have to type everytime? As I have to frequently conect and dissconnect to keep a check on my DATA transfer [as you know that my connection has limited data transfer] and everytime accessing the terminal window to do thi task is not really very....- you know what I mean.
- should I create this space in the same partition in which FC5 is installed or I should make another partition? For another partition what should be the size? Secondly should I configure UBUNTU to use the same SWAP partition used by FC5? and in this case I think I do not need to reformat the SWAP Partition again during installation?!create a space for Ubuntu
- could you please tell me how? Can't I continue using the FC5 GRUB instead of using Ubuntu's?now you can add FC5 in UBuntu's GRUB or Ubuntu's entry in FC5's GRUB...
I know my last two questions are obviously off topic, so if I have any more questions after getting your replies, I'll make a thread in the Ubutu forum andpost a link in this thread for our reference.
Thank you very much for supporting me continuously my dear friend.

Hi !
create a new partition for Ubuntu or you can use existing... size depends on your needs..... for FC5, i used 15 GB and for all other distros, its 10 GB... FC5 is my main OS and others are for research only....
post the output of these commands.. let c...
$ fdisk -l
and
$ df -H
you can use SWAP space of FC5 and no need to format that...
for GRUB.... you can use FC5 GRUB... i am using that only....
Ubuntu installer dont give any option for boot loader and install its boot loader by default ( without asking anything )...
after installation, copy the contents of /boot/grub/grub.conf ...
reinstall FC5 boot loader... follow instruction given in this thread....
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/red...-not-load.html
edit FC5's /boot/grub/grub.conf and add Ubuntu's title and other details......
e.g.
i added these lines for Ubuntu
title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-23-386
root (hd0,9)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-23-386 root=/dev/hda10 ro quiet splash
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-23-386
its in hda10... so root(hdo,9)
its done.........
whats error message for launcher.... ??

There is no error massege, just that it did not work.
Could you detail the process of creating a launcher specific to my commands? So that I may check out the my mistake?
Regarding Ubuntu I'll start a new thread at respective forum and I'll post the link here for your reference. Previous ubuntu ver used to give an option to choose to install grub.
Thank you
