Nivida Fx5500, Black Screen, xorg.conf help

Using Fedora 5, with the nividia fx5500 agp card.
I installed the driver for the card and all went good.
At the end of the install of the driver, It said my xorg.conf
    was now in /root/xorg.conf.new

I do have a backup of my xorg.conf
I have tryed putting the copy of my backup back in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
also I tryed coping it over to /root/xorg.conf.new
On boot up it is just going to black screen.
Right now I am able to boot with the rescue cdrom to make any changes.

    Any ideas? thanks

The usual method for resetting your display is to drop to runlevel 3 (with 'init 3'), then, from the command prompt run:

    Code:
    system-config-display --reconfig
and go back to runlevel 5 (with 'init 5').
