    Question grub installation


    hello there,

    I have installed both windows 2003 and redhat ent 4 es. but for some reason i needed reinstall windows 2003. but i kept the redhat installation things intact. now i need to install grub so that i can access both the linux and windows. please tell me how i can do that.

    hello there,

    thanks for the reply. but when i type

    $ chroot /mnt/sysimage
    $ grub-install /dev/hda

    then in the next line it kepts blinking . and nothing happens .

    plz tell me what to do now.

    no error message ???

    how many harddisks you have ?? Windows disk should be primary and if you have SATA disks then use sda instead of hda

    there is no error message. i have only one harddisk and its in hda ... both the OSs were in the same disk ...

    Hi !!

    post your partition details.....
    boot up throgh linux cd and after chroot, type

    # fdisk -l

    post the contents......

    you can boot up Windows... check partition details in disk management....
