    iam new to linux.
    i ahve a small doubt.
    we are changing the sound properties.
    we changed the properties.
    so in which file these changes reflected

    This changes the sound properties in the gnome context. You should use the "system tools->configuration editor" to access these. It is reflected in a file (you can start looking under ~/.gnome and ~/.gnome2) but you really do not want to change those files except with a config editor. That would be like changing the windows registry with a text editor - a very bad idea.
