How to install Windows back onto the Fedora machine?

    Try and it failed!

Anyone tells me how to get rid of Fedora and switch to Windows just for now? - Why? The DVD player software doesn't work and the network connection failed every 10 minutes.

    Thanks in advance!

Just pop in the Windows CD and install it over Fedora.

That's the only way, install Windows over Fedora. Did you install Windows on that machine before ?

I have installed windows numerous times on this computer

But this time it hangs after I "press any key to boot from CD" after inserting the same Windows CD I've been using for many times...the screen remains black and there's hardly any CPU activity indicated from the light...

Is that the problem that LCD isn't displaying correctly after linux altered the configuration? Or other reason...

    Thanks for advice.

    Hi !

this is a common problem. sometimes Xp CDs dont work at all. Boot up through Fedora CD/DVD and type

    linux rescue

after a while you will get prompt again, now type

    chroot /mnt/sysimage
    dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=521 count=1

this command will delete partition table and XP installation Cd wont see any Linux distro in Harddisk.
press Ctrl+D two times, machine will reboot.... install XP now.

    .... casper ....
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
