    Angry >< i need to get my FC5 working with my .....


    I cant get my FC5 working with my monitor all i get is a big white square moves when i move my mouse and the screen go crazy with white lines shaking.

    here is some info that might help:

    for lspci -v i got:

    Have you tried not starting X and editing the xorg.conf file from there? What video driver are you using?

    Since you can't use the GUI, try using nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    change the "ati" driver line in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to "vesa". So the resulting section now appears as follows:

    ...
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon Xpress 200M (RC410)"
    ## Driver "ati"
    Driver "vesa"
    BusID "PCI:1:5:0"
    EndSection
    ...

    when i type nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf i get black screen with options at the bottom.(i.g ^Get help ^o Writeout
    ^Exit ^ Justify ,,,etc)

    what do i do now i dont see any text that i can modifie

    If there is no text whatsoever, something got seriously messed up during the install.
    I'd re-install, or wait til someone else knows what to do......this is beyond my experience.

    Im just going to use my desktop for Linux and my laptop for Windows
