    in the firefox folder there is a icon on what looks like a computer screen. its named firefox... i clicked on it...

    didn't FireFox 2 window pop up on double clicking that file?
    is earlier version of firefox working?

    yes, the earlier verision is working fine. its like its not being installed. i tried running the ./firefox... it gave a error message... i was told to trying using yum... it gave a error message... it seems everything i am doing is giving error messages.

    i installed FireFox 2 in several machines having different distros. didn't get a single problem yet. execute firefox file in terminal again. post error message here. let c whats wrong......

    this is the error message i am getting

    [root@localhost ~]# cd /home/xGutsAndGloryx/Desktop/firefox-2.0/firefox
    [root@localhost firefox]# ./firefox
    ./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    the only thing i see in the firefox folder ..the only file entitled firefox is a shell script... if i double click on it nothing happens

    open terminal/konsole and execute these commands.
    Code:
    ln -s /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.5 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5
    ln -s /usr/local/lib/libgcc_s.so.1 /usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
    double-click on firefox file again.
