    Evolution Email Client Problems

    i am trying to configure Evolution to work with my gmail account. I have the POP 3 & SMTP Server information. its entered in right but still not connecting with the server... is there anything additional that needs to be done...

    Whois your ISP?

    is it giving you errors?

    Did you select "login" for smtp authentication?

    the email account isn't through my isp...its through google....its a gmail account

    I understand that, howerver some ISP's will block outgoing SMTP servers that are not theirs. SBC/ATT/Yahoo! is one of them.

    Evolution Email Client Problems

    if that was the case it would have blocked it on all email client like Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, & Etc. I have used the ones of the list in the past successfully.

    are you getting errors? what type of connection method to gmail are you using? Plain, Login, SSL?
