Unhappy Network issues.. Marvell vs sky2?

I am still struggling with network performance issues with this FC6 install.

The copy dialog box is only showing 6 to 7 MB/sec transfer rate to my stand-alone NAS. It took 3 hours to copy 76GB from the FC6 box to the NAS. From my Windows XP computer hooked up through the same switches, 1 hour. I have been trying to do some research before posting, and it looks like the Marvell Yukon chipset on the NICS has an issue with sky2, including horribly degraded perfomance.

Initially, I thought it might be because I was copying from a NTFS share I mounted throuth 3G-NTFS, but I tried it through a native EXT3 drive, and came up with the same thing.

The other issue I have is that it absolutely will NOT accept DHCP assigned DNS servers.. period, end of story. NOR will the manually assigned ones stay manually assigned. Log out, and back in, or reboot, and the DNS server IP fields are blank. Could the sky2 driver be causing this issue as well?

My question is this.... is there a way to switch to the sk98lin driver? I am new to this whole LINUX thing, so ripping the whole OS apart and trying to reassemble it isn't really an appealing option at the moment.

    To try the other driver

    Code:
    ifconfig <device> down
    modprobe -r sky2
    modprobe sk98lin
Changing <device> for the actual device name. Then reconfigure the device normally to see if it works. That will temporarily switch the drivers. If it causes any problems, just reboot to get back to where you were before.

If that works out we can take a look at making the changes permanent.

Let us know how you get on,

    Chris...
