Both OS FC6 and WindowsXP are booting and working.
I think that SATA is enabled in the BIOS. But I don't remember exactly which values are adjusted in the BIOS. The Dell BIOS is complex, with many rulers.
I will take a look when I shut down the PC.
kernel looks for ATA controller at boot up and wait for response. this is apparently harmless, except for the boot delays it causes.
actually its a BUG in FC6 kernel. it was in FC5 too and i reported it that time. i dont know whats Fedora Team doing. they didnt solve it in FC6. i am trying to develop a kernel patch for this. i will let you know.......
check SATA controller in BIOS. enabling SATA controller sorted out this problem in a few cases.
