    Question Unable to mount NTFS in Fedora


    I am unable to mount a Windows NTFS partition in Fedora core 4. I tried to mount as
    mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 -t ntfs
    I get "Unknown format ntfs" error.
    if i do not use -t option it says "specify the format"
    how do i mount it?

    Fedora doesn't support NTFS out of box.
    for NTFS read access, install kmod patch.
    Code:
    yum -y install kmod-ntfs
    for NTFS read/write access, check this link and follow instructions under 'NTFS write access' title.

    commands are same in RH4 too. install Yum and follow instructions for installing ntfs-3g after that.
