i recently installed fc6 and everythin went fine. i installed with default config..now i would like to install additional softwares but when i go add/remove software option, it doesn't work ...

    problem with add/remove softwares


    i recently installed fc6 and everythin went fine. i installed with default config..now i would like to install additional softwares but when i go add/remove software option, it doesn't work saying that network unavailable(unable to retrieve info) but i do have all the cds with me.. so what should i do???plz help

    ADD/Remove from CD/DVD doesn't work in Fedora. there is a work around for this problem. check 'Bugs/Fixes' section here.

    add/remove software

    Did you connect to internet before activating the update application?
    Are you able to access www successfully from your computer?

    for installing packages from installation CD/DVD, no need to have active internet connection.
