    Need Serious Help with Compiling

Ok, So I'm a newbie to Fedora (and Linux in general) and have avoided compiling things from source until now. So I get into the directory I need to be in to do the "./configure" command but it doesn't work. I get this:

    [root@localhost generic]# ./configure
    checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
    checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
    checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking whether to use default CFLAGS... yes
    checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
    See `config.log' for more details.

I've tryed googling that last part "checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables," but to no avail. If someone could help me out that'd be great. Thanks.

All fixed, gcc just auto updated and now everything works perfectly.
