    faster/more responsive panel autohide?

    Hello,

    Is there a way to get rid of the tiny delay before a panel pops up from autohide when hovering over it? it's only small, but annoying!

    All I managed to find was this at ubuntu forum:

    in gconf-editor enter a value of 0 for the /apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel_screen0/hide_delay and /apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel_screen0/unhide_delay keys .
    and

    for me it was /apps/panel/toplevels/panel_0/
    I don't have a clue what that means.

    thanks!

    with gnome:

    problem solved! The reason I couldn't find this out was because I didn't have the Gnome Configuration Editor installed. Install it from add/remove software (it will be in the gnome desktop category, not sure on the name though) then you should find it on the 'start' menu under system tools. (I think it's under applications)

    once your in, go to

    apps->panels -> top levels -> bottom panel

    then change the value of unhide_delay to 0

    done!
