Open this file with a text editor like kedit like this:
open a terminal as root, and type
kedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
then add this line
blacklist bcm43xx...

Quick question though, how can i make the whole file system read write able, as its a pain to change each directory etc, as which im doing atm

I don't think you really want to make your whole filesystem read/writeable, It's too insecure.
And good luck with a new card, try an atheros chipset.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
