Install CD's and DVD's do absolutely nothing.

Help! I have tried many times over the past few days to install Fedora 6 on my laptop. I download the CD or DVD image from the fedora website, compare hash values to make sure they are not corrupt, then burn the images to a disk. however the disk does nothing. Not in XP, not when i reboot with it in the drive. It just spins, stops, spins, stops. I can run Fedora off of the Live CD, but I didn't make a 9 gig unformatted partition to do that.

If the LiveCD works, then the install cd should too. Are you burning them differently?

    Here's how it goes:

    1) Download Image via Fedora Core Torrent Site
    2) Check the SH1 hash with HashCalc
    3) Using Nero 7 select "Burn Image to Disk"
    4) Reboot with disk in drive.
    5) Wait and look at a black screen with a cursor (but no ability to type) and listen to the CD/DVD spin and stop.

Are you using an old cd-rom drive? The spin-stop thing has happened to me in the past when using ****** or old hardware. Not sure why the livecd would work and the install cd wouldn't...

This computer I'm on (laptop) is about 2 years old so the drive isnt total **** yet. Also I tried to burn a "bootable image" but nero wouldnt let me because it would onlyburn IMG files as a bootable image.
