    Unhappy Regarding installation (Dual Boot)


    I had Win2K and WinXP initially.
    Then I installed FC5.
    But after that, I could not access windows n got a message that the hal.dll file is corrupt.
    I then reinstalled XP n then again FC5 , but same problem occured.
    Plz help me out.
    What do I do??

    how did you install FC5? what steps did you follow? whats the partition Structure of your harddisk?

    I made some memory unallocated frm Windows and then performd automatic partitioning in FC5

    boot up Fedora, execute this in terminal/konsole
    Code:
    su -
    fdisk -l

    I have installed XP again n now FC5 is not booting.
    I have also installed grub again but am gettin Error 15 and linux is not starting.

    how did you re-install GRUB? boot up in linux rescue mode and execute this

    chroot /mnt/sysimage
    less /boot/grub/grub.conf
    fdisk -l
    post output here.

    doing this after insrtin da fc5 cd
    linux rescue
    chroot /mnt/sysimage
    grub
    find /boot/grub/stage1

    I wil tel u after some time.

    i think you dont have access to your machine right now. i am asking for output of fdisk again n again and you are not posting it. i can't help unless i check the partition structure and contents of grub.conf file.
