    wtf? Inserting CD


    Ok I have problems with my FC6. First my usb stick key stopped automounting and now when I insert CD nothing happens(just cd-dvd icon dissapears from my computer)....

    What should I do?

    Are you running the HAL daemon? the gnome-volume-manager? can you mount the devices manually?

    I am running hal....and I cannot mount anything...

    [root@localhost jan]# gnome-volume-manager

    Then, the problem is on your kernel!
    Have you checked dmesg | tail as I suggested in a previous thread but after trying to mount the CD

    Would Update of kernel help?

    cd rom works now...But I have still problems with usb stick
