How to install Fedora 6 in a RAID array
I have an old server with PIII and 4 pcs of 256 MB memory and I also have a Acceleraid 160 Raid controller. I would like to know how to install the Fedora 6 in a machine that have a RAID array controled.
I know that the driver must by installed in the system, but how to do this before the instalation process?
Thank you for your help.

If your RAID controller is 100% hardware raid, there shouldn't be a need to install any drivers. If it is hardware/software (as in my tyan board), you need to use appropriate software to get your RAID working.
Again, I am usure. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If drivers must be installed for you to use it, then it is a software RAID, and (AFAIK) linux won't work with it. Sorry.
Although I am intrigued by stukov saying that he got a software RAID working with linux. How did you do that?Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880

I did it with FreeBSD. In FreeBSD you have some utilities to build software RAID, gmirror, vinum, etc. Linux doesn't have this?? This is surprising... I am pretty much convinced there is something similar in Linux.
I'll search on the topic and let you know later.
