    Installing Linux on old laptop


    hi all!

    I have a laptop running windows ME with no cd rom drive, i have windows ME and want to make the laptop easy to sell so i want to put another operating system on it, i am unable to boot from my flash drive for some reason so is there anything i can put on with my circumstances? any help appreciated, thanks!

    i have only ever installed suse linux - here is some info on what they require
    http://en.opensuse.org/INSTALL_Internet
    does the bios have anything that enables boot from flashdrive or usb device?

    Check your bios to see if you can bot from a usb device, as meinit said. If you can't you may have to do a network install. However if you're trying to make it easier to sell, I'd say leaving windows on it and ebaying it would be your best bet.
    Two levels higher than a newb.
