Creating RPMs for My Java Application
I have written an Application in Java. I need to package this application into an RPM.
My Application consists of :
a> 2 JAR files.
b> 1 man page.
c> script to launch the jar file appropriately.
d> Some help files.
i want to create an rpm for this app. All that the rpm is expected to do is to copy the files into appropriate directories.
e.g. when the following command is given
rpm -ivh MyPackage-VERSION.rpm
The rpm should create a directory(Say AppName) inside /usr and copy the
2 jar files & My HelpFiles in /usr/AppName, Copy The script to launch the jar
file in the /bin directory and finally the man page in /usr/man/man8 directory
For the pourpose of simplicity, i dont want my rpm to compile/build etc. Its merely putting the file in appropriate directories.
I have heard that spec file needs to be created. Couly any1 please help me with creating such a spec file...
