I backed up, wiped my hard disk and reinstalled XP then FC6, but this time I made the Windows partition the first partition. Everything now works fine, I didn't even get the hal.dll message after installing fedora. Rest assured, in the future, I will remember to always put my Windows partition first!

Windows create problems if you install it in Logical Partition. it depends on GRUB too. it configure Windows Boot Loader in some machines perfectly and make Windows boot.
