    Fedora server, wget


    Hi everyone

    I am new to linux so there is very little i know about it. I log in to my dedicatd server i have just bought (Fedora) and login with putty. I go all the way to the folder i need to upload some staff but with wget command I cant upload from my pc.

    Please tell me how to upload files to my server from my desktop?

    For that task I use cygwin, then just ssh/scp like you're on a linux box

    Code:
    scp files user@server:/path/to/upload/files/

    So i log in as root and with that command i can upload from my computer to the http server.

    you should be able to

    you really shouldn't allow remote root login on your server though, I would give the directory you plan to upload these files to write permissions for a regular user and upload the files as that user instead.

    I use EngInSite DataFreeway. It is freeware, search on google.
