Hi,

I installed Fedora Core 6 on my laptop yesterday and installed the ipw2200 firmware to /etc/firmware and my wireless was working fine. The problem is later that night I ran yum update and after I rebooted the wireless wouldn't work. In Network Device Control it won't let me activate eth1 (my wireless device). It gives me the following error:

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument.

Determining IP information for eth1... failed; no link present. Check cable?

I tried reinstalling the ipw2200 firmware again but it didn't solve the problem.

Oh and I got Network Manager running which detects the wireless network but cannot connect to it. I'm pretty sure this is because I cannot activate the wireless device.

My wireless hardware is Intel Pro Wireless 2915 agb.

Can anyone help me? I've googled and such but couldn't find anything that worked.

EDIT: Sorry this belongs in Wireless, could a mod or admin please move it.
