[the details are as follows:
ISP=skybroadband
router company name=netgear
IP address:192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0
Default Gateway:192.168.0.1
Dhcp Server:192.168.0.1
DNS server:192.168.0.
when i ping the router it says ''network unreachable'' i connected a cable into one of the four ports in router to desktop which is working fine in windows(i mean internet works fine in windows).
what i have done in linux is i opened network configuration window from start menu and tried to activate ethernet adaptor from the list of adaptors. i dun know which adaptor exactly i have to choose.. then i configured xDSL connection. when i tried to activate xDSL it fails after some moment saying connection terminated.. i tried several few ways
vi /etc/hosts
vi /etc/resolv.conf
but no resultt....
i think this info would be enough to fix the error!
very much thanks for my reply
