    Selecting the correct Fedora 7

    Hi,

As I understand Fedora 7 is officially out on the 31st of May, 2007. As I came to know from the release schedule here on this very page:

    Releases/7 - Fedora Project Wiki

I want a 32+ bit Fedora 7 and a dvd image/iso (around 3 GB) so that I can burn to a single dvd and then I went to this page

    Public Active Mirrors

but I am struggling as to what to choose, there are 3 items here as follows

    05/27/2007 02:42PM 2,900,602,880 F-7-i386-DVD.iso
    05/27/2007 02:42PM 101,816,320 F-7-i386-rescuecd.iso
    05/27/2007 09:40PM 359 SHA1SUM

and I think I should be going for the 1st one which is

    05/27/2007 02:42PM 2,900,602,880 F-7-i386-DVD.iso

    Am I right?

Second question is my hardware is as follows:

    Intel Centrino 1.4 GHZ CPU
    512 MB DDR RAM
    40 GB HDD
    DVD Writer
    LAN Card

Is this gonna be enough for the 32+ bit Fedora 7 that I want to install?

My third and last question is whatever mirror I choose for example this one:

    Index of /pub/fedora.redhat/linux/releases/7/Fedora/i386/iso

This is what I get on the above page/url

    F-7-i386-DVD.iso 27-May-2007 10:42 2.7G

Here the date is 27th of May while the official release date is 31st of May is that gonna make any difference?

I have also tried some other mirrors but they also have the dates ranging from 27th of May to 29th of May but not exactly 31st of May.

So am gonna be ok if I download the iso with a date say 27-May-2007 ?

    Thanks a lot....

I can't tell you if thats enough (though I reckon it will run flawlessly), but I can tell you that I always pick my linux distro by comparison to XP.
If XP runs well for you, so will Fedora 7.
    Hope that helps.
Oh, and yeah, you're right, thats the one you need to download, just burn it to a DVD and boot. fairly easy to install.

    hi tech291083

    Here:
    Take this one
    http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/rel...7-i386-DVD.iso

    Have fun!

BTW: I think that 29-5-2007 is a date when they made a directory for fedora 7.

Then I will just download it without having any worries about the date. Haa. Thanks a lot...
