    How to disable a CPU

    Using a dual CPU server, can I disable one of the CPUs?
    Maybe there's a GRUB configuration option or whatever?

    FWIW, it's related to software licensing (based on CPUs).

    In grub.conf change/add the line with this param
    Code:
    maxcpus=number_of_cpus
    So if you want one cpu only you will write
    Code:
    maxcpus=1
    and so on....
