Help me install flash

I downloaded the flash program to /home/carlwill/Downloads

Here is my code, can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz < --------------- This is the file I downloaded, I can't seem to extract it from gunzip to run the "sh" command.

Here is what I am doing,

I open a konsole window:

Code:
su
password
cd /home/carlwill/Downloads
ls <------------------[b]I can see the file called install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz[/b]
tar -zxf install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz
[root@localhost Downloads]# tar -zxf install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Code:
tar -zxvf install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz
to unzip.
If you love something, emerge it

There is an rpm

I just installed flash this weekend. There is a Fedora rpm.

http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/macromedia/site_ru.html

Your profile lists Fedora Core 1 so I assuming that is what you are using.

Did you download in a web browser? Some browsers will unzip but leave the name unchanged. Try renaming without the .gz and just untarring it.

flash

Does the GUI interface ot work for it, just double click on it and fedora should do the rest for extraction. It works just like win zip just double click on it and it will open

Hope this hepls

If not try redownloading it, it could have been a bad download or try downloading it from macromedia themselves / the fedora rpm

One of these things should work

good luck
