    I dont see qamix or gmix...in kmix I see all the sliders have a green light above them acept the ac97 one...it has a slider but no green light

    If anyone has the same problem, I switched to GNOME rather than KDE and I have no problem...just sucks getting use to Gnome but atleast I have sound

    the commands i told you to run were in case you are login as root not as a normal user.that's why you get bash:command not found.

    hey, did you all give your user access to audio? try playing sound as root and see if it makes a differnce. ( I know this sounds stupid, but in gentoo, you have to give user permission 'audio' for them to have audio, mabey kde somehow interfears with those permissions)

    HELP!!! PLZ

    right have some sound that comes out the pcm (what ever that is) i know it comes form them becouse in the volume control if i change it the volume changes any way i can get sounds from games and i can play .oggy files but thats it if i use the cd player to try and play a cd i get no sound oh also when i rip a cd it dosnt work unless i do it in root whys this.

    done it sorta

    right i fixed my problem about only being able to rip cd's in root it was pretty stupid reall i was just using too many programes whilst trying to rip the cd. but help with my other troubles would be a great help thnks.
    .p.s dose any one know any dvd players i can download

    Hello all: I installed fedora 1 and neva had "sweet" beautiful sound.... and i installed fedora 2 and am still without sounds. How are you doing this?

    re: No sound in fedora

    I have gone through installing ALSA stuff but for what ever reason my snd_card_emu10k1 module is not being found. I checked under all the dirs that I could think of and it doesnt seem to exist. The sound card detection stats that this is my sound card but I cant get my hands on the module.

    modprobe snd-card-emu10k1
    FATAL: Module snd_card_emu10k1 not found


    newbie here...

    ps-> I built the alsa-driver package after I downloaded it and checked under the modules dir, nothing there
