    Smile [SOLVED] subversion- svn: '.' is not a working copy


    hi frdz,
    i installed subversion and exported file to my local system.
    when i try to run any command on svn like add
    svn add file1
    i get following error
    svn: '.' is not a working copy

    Are you running this command within the checkedout dir?

    Check is there .svn folder in the dir

    $ ls -la

    Question

    i'm new to subversion ...(but used vss)
    first we created svn repository at 10.232.6.36/myproject at remote machine.
    What i did is this ,
    svn export svn://10.232.6.36/myproject

    i (username:oss)can see myproject(ansd it's files) on my system /home/oss/myproject
    how to add file
    i say,
    svn add test132
    it thorws above said error . not working copy...help please

    Is the file test132 inside the svn working copy?
    I assume you checkout the project in local machine.

    thanks ..now it works ..instead of using svn checkout i used svn export option ...
    now every things seems to be fine
