how to make a startup disk?

Greetingz every1,
i have red hat linux 8, i tried formatting a floppy using the floppy formatter option from the system tools. But the floppy cannot b formatted. The error was "cant read the first sector(0)". Same error came with many other floppies i tried. Strangely, all these floppies opened and worked properly in Windoze. How can i format them.

My second problem is how to make a startup disk in Red Hat Linux 8. Plz help. Thanx in advance

quick fix would be to format the disk with windoze (since you said that works fine), then on RH:

Well, I don't know much about that GUI floppy formatter program, but try if this command works:

As for making a startup disk, I'm not sure if I understand just what you want. What do you intend to do with this startup disk?
