Installing Fedora Core 2
I am new to Linux and am trying to install Fedora Core 2 from the bootable DVD Disk that came with Linux Magazine (July).
I have a 30GB partition to use on my HD which I have allocated as root.
Anaconda acccepts that as OK but then tells me i have not allocated any space for a swap file. I cant see how to see that up from the installation screen.
The message that appears to tell me the above also says that allocating space is not necessary but does help to speed things up. What do i do? [/b]
You need to create a swap partition. In the installer, remove that root partition, create a swap partition on about 1 GB or so, and then recreate the root partition with the space that's left.
Thanks for help. Tried your suggestion and it works! Great
