Login screen not showing up

Hi,

I accidentally remove my ui's in fedora 7. i already reinstall Gnome using yum but it seems like the Login interface is not showing and i can't login.i can only log-in using the console. is there any other way i can bring it back. when i type in startx in the console it has a display error.

OK, then if you can login as root, you have the power,
and can fix it.

hey dude,

thanks for the immediate reply. when i boot up my fedora 7,i can only see the mouse cursor but the login screen won't show. what i did is to press crtl+alt+F1 to get to the console and login from there. I can log on to root and to my other account. when i type startx i got this error message.

FATAL SERVER ERROR:
Server is already Active for Display 0
if this server is no longer running remove /tmp/.x0-Lock
and start again.
Xlib: connection to "0.0" refused by server
Xlib: INvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
giving up.
Xinit: unable to connect to X server
Xinit: no such process (erno 3): server error

what should i do. need help. Either using yum or cd.
