Is there a way to install nvidia drivers on a x86_64 xen kernel? because I know by default nvidia installer does not install on xens, so is there a way to make it work?


PS: Just finished re-installing and updating linux as my previous install kinda well went kpoof

Card info:
Nvidia Geforce FX 5100

Ideal driver:

Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T)

With FC8, will it contain the correct drivers? so that my graphics card can do something instead of how fedora does it now where google earth cannot find the graphics card and uses software emulation because no driver.....

Did you try the livna repository through yum?

Thanks, had the repository already installed.. must have installed it for something else, and just done the nvidia... rebooting now.

It's installed the drivers on the normal kernel, which wasn't the problem, I just get a warning when booting into the XEN kernel, because there is no kernel.ko file for the XEN kernel, which is what I want the drivers for, is there a way to get them onto the xen kernel?

Sorry. I made a little search and found out that nvidia doesn't support a XEN kernel. You either have to use the nv driver with the xen kernel or boot to a normal kernel. :/

There is no way to get it to support. Your best bet would be to run a normal kernel and use the nv driver. I'm sure some way some how it's possible but i've never hurd of such a thing. Well whatever your choice is good luck.

Ok Fair enough I'll need to use the original kernel instead of xen, but what will I loose/gain? besides graphic?
