root file system is full

Hi,

I am using RHEL 3 , My root file system is showing 100% consumed

I am getting certain panic messages during start up

now how to resolve this issue , how do I find out which is the file which is flooding the root partition

urgent help needed pls

If you can boot from a livecd and check out your filesystem you might want to have a look at /var and specifically /var/logs for old log archives. In a terminal run du -h from your root partition and see what is using the most space.
