    Did you edit the ~/.mailrc file?
    For example, my .mailrc file is:
    Code:
    set smtp-use-starttls
    set smtp=smtp://smtp.gmail.com:587
    set smtp-auth=login
    set smtp-auth-user=<myusername>@gmail.com
    set smtp-auth-password=<mypass>
    set from="<myusername>@gmail.com"
    And I issued this command:
    Code:
    $ mail <my-yahoo-id>
    Subject: from mail prog

    my text
    ^D
    And it did its job.
    Of course that you could give these parameters in command-line.

    Just create it.
    Code:
    touch ~/.mailrc
