My web server was not installed by me. It was installed by our hosting company.

I just got the new server about 2 weeks ago and started to develop my web pages on it using Joomla. After 2 weeks, I find that the server gets slower and slower and finally the page just would not even load.

In between that I get strange problems - one day when I was trying to install a application, it says I have a partition error.

I contacted my hosting company and they told me that I have to resolve the problems myself.

How can I check whether their installation is right or wrong?

And how can I resolve the problems I am getting?

Hope someone can shed some light in this dark tunnel for me.

It it possible to post some information about your system?
For example, /etc/fstab (partition info) and error messages (partition?)

Strange that a company who installs your server doesn't give support... a bit too easy eh?

I tried the command you mentioned /etc/fstab and the error message is
-bash: /etc/fstab: Permission denied

This company charges a lot (almost 100pounds a month) and unfortunately, yes, they do not give support. Sigh.....

So, hope you can help me as I have lost touch with Unix a long time ago.

What other commands can I use to get the partition info?

If I use fdisk -l, this is what I get:
