hi,

you welcome.

now you have two different problems.
a) you need to install binutils
b) you need to fix yum

i think it would be wiser to fix yum first as it will allow you to install binutils and
other packages later on.

for yum can you post the content of /etc/yum.repos.d/
Code:
ls -l /etc/yum.repos.d/

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1834 2008-04-27 10:40 fedora-rawhide.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1084 2008-04-27 10:40 fedora.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 994 2008-04-27 10:40 fedora-updates.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1067 2008-04-27 10:40 fedora-updates-testing.repo

ive added all the repositories in the system>administration>software sources

yeah it looks like yum doesnt recognize your repositories(does not see the mirrorlist).

go to this thread and do what is described there.

yea i started reading that one and i dont understand what they mean by "Pick your version then a mirror and download the fedora-release package from the Everything directory," i clicked all over that site and did not see any sort of directory. i selected my version x86_64 from the top right and found a mirror in the US where im located then it brings me to sort of an FTP looking situation

parent directory

development

extras

releases

updates

theres a tree of things under each of those catagories but ive not found anything that says everything folder

am i just doin this wrong or what?
