im still new to linux and am running fedora core 8 64-bit

you have some packages conflicting. it looks like you have packages for one architecture and you try to install the same packages for another architecture.
since x86_64 can run i386 applications you have to be careful not to try to install both .
check the paths given in the error messages and see which packages are present
