MinIcom and hyperterminal

HI All,

i connected a Linux PC (CentOS4 installed) with a Windows XP. In LInux Pc i am using minicom and on the XP PC, I have hyper terminal. i am successfully able to send the messages from Linux to XP, but when XP sends any message, it is not observed on Linux (ie in MiniCom),

could some one explain me, if I am missing something obvious ?

Hmm, I would almost say ... check your cable.

I am assuming that your terminal settings are the same ... baud, parity, stop, data bits, and flow.

Have you tried another app ... even using cat on your Linux host will do
Code:
$ cat < /dev/ttyS0
